Separate U.S. policies restrict certain visa issuance and entry for Burmese nationals, and effective January 21, 2026, the U.S. Department of State also paused immigrant visa issuance for Burmese nationals, subject to exceptions. Applicants may still be able to submit applications or continue case processing, but visa issuance may be restricted depending on the applicant’s visa category and circumstances. Because these rules can change, always verify the latest information with the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Embassy.
