Being a mom is basically a full-time job with no lunch break, no vacation days, and somehow people still ask, “What’s for dinner?”
I learned this the hard way.
Growing up, I didn’t exactly grow up with “Pinterest-style meal planning.” In my house, food was more like:
- “Is there rice?”
- “Is there egg?”
- “Okay good, we survive another day.”
Now as a mom myself, I finally understand the chaos of trying to feed people who get hungry every 3 hours like tiny emotional alarm clocks.
So I started building a system: quick meals that don’t require a mental breakdown.
🍳 My “I’m Too Tired to Think” Meal Ideas
Here are the meals that save me on busy days:
- Fried rice with eggs (a classic survival meal)
side note – i always change out my pots and pans nonstick ones. after much research I went with ceramic ones here which sometimes can stick but u know what i rather not eat chemicals lol so no thank you t-fal sorry not sorry
- Quick pasta with garlic butter
- Rotisserie chicken + salad + rice (yes, we combine cultures here)
- Stir-fry vegetables with soy sauce
- Egg omelet with whatever is left in the fridge
Nothing fancy. Just survival cooking.
🧠 The Real Secret: Time-Saving Kitchen Tools
I realized something important:
It’s not that I hate cooking…
It’s that I hate complicated cooking. I don’t know about you but i hate chopping and prepping so this is what i use.
So I slowly started collecting tools that make life easier:
- Rice cooker (life-changing, not exaggerating)
- Non-stick pan (for “I don’t want to scrub anything” days)
- Meal prep containers (for pretending I’m organized)
- Blender (for smoothies when I forget vegetables exist)
👉 If you want to see what I use, I’ve linked some helpful kitchen tools below that actually make life easier.
💬 Final Thought
If you’re a mom reading this, just know:
You don’t need gourmet meals.
You just need food that gets people fed without you questioning your entire life at 6:47 PM.
That’s the real goal.
