When I first started thinking about blogging, I felt overwhelmed by all the advice out there—pages, posts, categories, SEO structure, design tools, and everything in between.

So I decided to keep it simple and build a system that is easy to manage, beginner-friendly, and also good for SEO growth over time.

1. I Separate My Website Into Pages, Categories, and Posts

The first thing I learned is that everything on a blog has a different role.

Pages (Fixed Information)

These are the permanent parts of my website that don’t change often.

I use pages for:

  • About Me
  • Start Here
  • Contact
  • Privacy Policy
  • Disclaimer

These pages are not for blogging content—they are for structure, trust, and helping visitors understand who I am.


Categories (Organizing My Content)

Categories help me group my blog posts into clear topics so everything stays organized.

My main categories include:

  • Motherhood
  • Personal Stories
  • Life Lessons
  • Guides / How-To
  • Immigrant Life (optional depending on topic)

Each category acts like a “folder” for similar posts.


Posts (My Actual Content)

This is where all my writing goes.

Every blog post I write is placed under one category.

For example:

  • “My Childhood in Burma” → Personal Stories
  • “My Pregnancy Journey” → Motherhood
  • “A Day in My Life as a Mom” → Motherhood
  • “How to Start a Blog on WordPress” → Guides / How-To

Posts are the heart of my blog. This is where I share stories, experiences, and helpful guides.


2. I Keep My Blog Page Simple and Automatic

I also created a main “Blog” page, but I don’t manually add anything to it.

Instead, WordPress automatically displays all my posts there.

This way:

  • Every new post shows up automatically
  • I don’t have to reorganize anything
  • Everything stays updated without extra work

It keeps things simple and scalable.


3. I Focus on Being Original, Creative, and Personal

One of the most important things I remind myself is this:

I don’t try to copy other bloggers.

Instead, I focus on:

  • My own experiences
  • My own voice
  • My real thoughts and struggles
  • My personal motherhood journey

Even simple topics become meaningful when they are written honestly and personally.

That’s what makes content connect with readers.


4. I Structure My Content for Long-Term Growth

My goal is not just to write random posts, but to build a clear structure that can grow over time.

So I organize my blog like this:

  • Pages = foundation and trust
  • Categories = organization system
  • Posts = everything I publish

This makes it easy to scale my blog from a few posts to hundreds without getting messy.


5. I Keep Everything Simple and Consistent

I don’t try to do everything at once.

Instead, I:

  • Write one post at a time

  • Keep my structure consistent
  • Focus on long-term growth

Consistency matters more than perfection.
