Uzbekistan Airways starts flights from Goa to Tashkent

The airline will now operate two weekly flights from GOX every Sunday and Wednesday, using a narrow-body Airbus A320 or equivalent aircraft.

Uzbekistan Airways JSC, in partnership with its longstanding Indian collaborator Arya Enterprises, launched its inaugural flight HY430 from Mopa, Goa (Manohar International Airport in North Goa) on October 27.

The first aircraft was greeted with a water cannon salute to honour the airline’s launch from GOX. The airline participated in a lamp-lighting ceremony with its team and provided all passengers with welcome goodies, including dry fruits and neck pillows.

The flight arrived from Tashkent with 111 passengers and departed with a total of 82 passengers. “The flight returned to Tashkent with 82 passengers, including 40 students flying to Russia for medical studies,” said Anish Arya of Arya Enterprises, the representative for Uzbekistan Airways in India.

Arya added, “This is the second route launch in India for Uzbekistan Airways in 2024, following the launch of regular flights ex Mumbai on 02 April 2024. “The airline will now operate two flights per week, every Sunday and Wednesday, from GOX airport. Visas to the Republic of Uzbekistan can be obtained online at www.e-visa.gov.uz.

Mopa airport is developed by GMR Goa International Airport Limited (GGIAL). On average, the airport handles around 100 aircraft movements and approximately 15,000 passengers daily.
